The Great Lakes Region of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated® encompasses 97 graduate and undergraduate chapters across Michigan, Ohio, Western New York, Western Pennsylvania, and West Virginia. Home to over 7,000 dedicated members, this region is committed to enhancing the lives of their respective communities.

Under the leadership of Regional Director Gwendolyn L. Kirtley, the Great Lakes Region strives to expand "Greater Together" in service and sisterhood, focusing on leadership development, inclusive communications, and increased visibility of Alpha Kappa Alpha in their communities.
